Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk

The Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk provide information on planning and development, housing, Council Tax, benefits, bins and recycling, and other services in the borough.

Careline Community Service

Careline support thousands of people across Norfolk and parts of Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Lincolnshire, supporting people to live safely and independently in their own home through their 24/7 personal alarm service. Their service provides peace of mind knowing that help is just the touch of a button away.

They offer:

  • personal in-home installation and servicing by a member of our team
  • no upfront fees
  • free home visits on faults or problems which will be booked in around your schedule
  • a rolling contract with the option to cancel at any time you want

Once cancelled you are only charged up to the end of the month until equipment is returned by you.

Lily

Norfolk County Council has commissioned services across the county to help tackle loneliness and social isolation.

The services offer 1-to-1 support to adults (18+) whose loneliness is the primary issue affecting their health & well-being.

Clients are supported to:

  • access social activities, volunteering opportunities, community services and assets
  • identify and overcome barriers that prevent them becoming connected
  • reconnect with family & friends and make new connections in their community

Lily is no longer accepting new referrals Loneliness and Social Isolation, however the Lily website contains lots of information about local activities, services and events which may help to reduce feelings of loneliness and social isolation.

Advice & Review Team

Help and Support available from the Borough Council’s Benefits Team.

Did you know we have a small team of Advice and Review Team Officers in our Benefits department who can help you with your benefit queries? Our officers can visit you in your home and are able to help with:

  • Attendance Allowance Forms
  • Council Tax Support
  • Disability Living Allowance for children
  • Discretionary Housing Payment
  • General Welfare benefit queries
  • Housing Benefit

There is also a Benefit calculator which anyone can use by clicking the link to see if you are missing out on any welfare benefits, including Pension Credit. It is free and easy to use, and could make a real difference if you qualify for any of these benefits.

If our officers are unable to help, where possible, they will sign post you to other council departments such as LILY, Care and Repair, Careline or outside organisations if applicable.
